Talieh was a student in the UCR-SDSU joint Evolutionary Biology program. She defended her PhD on June 28, 2024 (degree completed August 2024) on plant comparative genomics in the genus Boechera and a project on the Citrus genome. She was primarily advised by Prof Elizabeth Waters at SDSU and co-advised in the lab through the UCR-EEOB Joint Doctoral Program with SDSU. She is currently a postdoctoral scholar in Pediatrics at UC San Diego.
