Dr Ying Sun joined the lab in 2020 as a joint postdoc with Susan Wessler. Her research projects focus on Rice and the impact of active transposons on the epigenetic landscape of Rice across different varieties and a set of Recombinant Inbred Lines with varying composition of one transposon called mPing. Her PhD work from Stanford University focused on abiotic and drought stress in plants.
Dr Sun is currently a postdoc at the Salk Institute, UCSD on the Harnessing Plants Initiative.
